James King

James set up Host in Scotland as part of his role within Scottish Futures Trust(“SFT”). James leads SFT’s work in the International Connectivity, Datacentres and Internet Exchange space. James is passionate about growing the Scottish market and identified the need for an umbrella organisation to bring the market together and to work in unison to develop. Prior to joining SFT James worked for PwC in their project finance team and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.

Polly Purvis OBE
Deputy Chair

Polly is CEO of ScotlandIS, the trade body for digital technologies industries, whose members develop and deliver software, telecoms, IT services, infrastructure and digital media products and services. She also Chairs the board of CodeClan, is a member of the Edinburgh and South East Scotland City Region Deal Regional Enterprise Council, Scotland CAN DO Business Innovation Forum, the ICT & Digital Technologies Skills Group, the Industrial Advisory Board of the University of Dundee's School of Computing, a director of dotScot Registry, and a Trustee of the Digital Xtra Fund.

Kelly McErlane
Head of Events

Kelly is a hugely experienced event manager who manages the full ScotlandIS and Host in Scotland event calendar including the ScotlandIS flagship event ScotSoft, a 1400 plus delegate conference and awards ceremony, and every Host in Scotland meet up – doing everything from event logistics to sponsorship.   Having worked with ScotlandIS since 2014 and Host in Scotland since its inception, Kelly can turn her hand to most things – if you have any questions about membership, industry contacts or obviously, events, please do get in touch and she’ll be happy to help.
